The 2024 Albany Tulip Festival Live Music Schedule
Albany Tulip Festival and all of its concerts are free to attend, and they will be held on the ParkAlbany's Main Stage, WEXT's 518 Stage, and the Price Chopper KidZone Stage.
ParkAlbany's Main Stage:
- Saturday, May 11 (1:30 PM): Of The Atlas - Jay Woodruff, hailing from Catskill, leads alternative rock band Of The Atlas through a diverse evolution. Starting as a solo act, Woodruff transformed the group into a blend of indie, art rock, and power pop.
- Saturday, May 11 (3:00 PM): Prince Daddy & the Hyena - Formed in 2014, Prince Daddy & the Hyena is a punk rock band based in Albany, New York. With three full-length albums and four extended plays under their belt, they've made a mark on the punk scene.
- Saturday, May 11 (4:30 PM): The Front Bottoms - A punk band hailing from New Jersey, who came together in 2011 with their self-titled independent debut. They've graced the stages of Late Night with Seth Meyers and NPR's Tiny Desk, toured alongside acts like Blink-182, and amassed nearly 100 million streams and over 500,000 album sales.
- Sunday, May 12 (1:00 PM): Off the Record - Off The Record Trio, the Capital District’s sole 1960's rock and roll lounge band, has won the "Eddie" for Best Capital District Party Cover Band twice. Led by Joanna Palladino on vocals, they blend vintage 60s tunes with a modern twist.
- Sunday, May 12 (2:30 PM): Funk Evolution - Formed in 2010, Funk Evolution has brought top-tier entertainment to the Northeast for 14 years. Known for high-energy performances, they blend classic R&B with modern hits, offering diverse genres from soul and disco to pop and hip hop. Their 'Sax Battle' is legendary.
- Sunday, May 12 (4:30 PM): New York Players - The New York Players are known as the ultimate dance party experts in New York. With a specialization in corporate and private events, as well as nightclub performances, concerts, and festivals, they ensure the dance floor stays lively all night.
WEXT's 518 Stage:
Past festivals have featured a mix of local and regional musicians.
- Saturday, May 11 (1:00 PM): Side B - Upstate New York's four-piece alternative rock band, featuring Dylan Travison on drums, Eric Mitchell on bass, AJ Horton on guitar, and Ian Justino as vocalist. Their debut EP, "The Low Budget Romance," is out now.
- Saturday, May 11 (2:15 PM): Sofia Corts - A rising 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Albany, New York, Sofia Cort's self-taught guitar and keyboard skills blend genres seamlessly, infusing pop, R&B, and jazz elements into infectious, memorable melodies.
- Saturday, May 11 (3:30 PM): Camtron5000 - Albany-based rapper Camtron5000 challenges hip-hop stereotypes with dynamic and playful energy in his music. Since 2016, he's been crafting alternative hip-hop with skilled lyricism, aiming to redefine the genre.
- Saturday, May 11 (4:45 PM): The Insolent Willies - Upstate New York's roots-rock band, The Insolent Willies, known for their mix of original songs and unique interpretations of various musical styles. Bill Ackerbauer, Frank DeVer Pullen, Paul Gavry, and Evan Gavry make up the band.
- Sunday, May 12 (1:00 PM): Girl Love - Laura Beth Johnson's folk project, Girl Love, showcases her award-winning poetry and soulful music affirming queer holiness. Nominated for two Eddies, her dark blend of story and soul can be found on streaming platforms.
- Sunday, May 12 (2:15 PM): The E-Block - Upstate New York's 5-piece indie R&B band, The E-Block, blends singer-songwriter warmth with modern R&B rhythms. Their unique style earned them a reputation as a captivating live act in the Capital Region scene.
- Sunday, May 12 (3:30 PM): Reese Fulmer & the Carriage House Band - Reese Fulmer & The Carriage House Band deliver mesmerizing indie-folk performances with a rotating cast of top-notch players. Their lyricism explores human experiences with a poetic touch, pushing indie-folk boundaries.
- Sunday, May 12 (4:45 PM): Oobleck - Founded in 2008, Oobleck is a funky band from New York's Capital Region, known for inciting dance parties with their New Orleans-inspired sound. Their energetic mix of horns, drums, bass, and guitar leaves audiences grinning and dancing.
The Price Chopper KidZone Stage
Note: This stage will include a mix of kid-friendly music and entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday.
- 1:00pm & 4:00pm - Andy "The Music Man": A well-versed children's musician renowned for delighting audiences of all ages through sing-a-longs, dancing, play-acting, and storytelling.
- 2:00pm - Park Playhouse: Washington Park’s beloved theater group offers exciting sneak previews of their 2024 musical productions The Marvelous Wonderettes, Legally Blonde & Finding Nemo Jr.
- 2:45pm and 4:45pm - Melvin the Magnificent: Melvin is a professional magician played by Joe Goode. His shows are action packed, interactive, and sure to bring huge laughs from the entire audience.
- 3:30pm & 5:30pm - Ruth Pelham of the Music Mobile: A Capital Region musical treasure, exuberantly promoting her mission of building peaceful communities through original songs for all ages.
